Don't judge me wrong, I love you all a lot and I sincerely apreciate all your support with some of my ideas, but I need to split in my mind what's Professional and what's personal in order to gain more focus in the work that I do, be it curating exhibitions, book collections, interviews, presentation videos, prefaces to books or book presentations.
I'll organize the tributes by artist in alphabetical order and put each artist in bold to be easier for you to see your tributes and where they were exhibited along your quotes about the character Valentina and your Biography aswell.

Graphic designer and illustrator from Barcelona.
He has been studying at Escola de Disseny i Art Llotja, performing 'Arte Final de Diseño Gráfico', 'Gráfica Publicitaria' and 'Ilustración'.
With a distinctive style, this designer usually mixed advertising design with illustration. He enjoys creating characters and comics strips very visually powerful, of black humor and social critique.
Is inspired by television, cinema, anonymous people, and especially, by other illustrators and designers.

Alejandro Santos - "Valentina is always about dreams, dreams are always about sex (a wise man said), Valentina is a compelling journey into the world of dreams and eroticism."
Biography
Alejandro Santos was born in 1964 in Barcelona, where he first studied law at the University, which he graduated in 1989, before moving to the design, first at the Escola Superior de Disseny i Art “Llotja” (1980/81) and at the Escola Massana, center for art and design from 1993 to 1996, a period during which he received a scholarship from the Cercle Artístic de Sant Lluc. Alejandro Santos regularly illustrates the legal and scientific publications. He has participated in exhibitions like “Cuatro” in the Centre Cultural “La Capsa” (el Prat de Llobregat, 1996), “Twisted reality” in the Mitte-Barcelona gallery (2015), the "Festival des carnets de voyage Ici & ailleurs” in Brest (France, 2015), “La plaça dibuixa” in the Fundació SETBA (Barcelona, 2015), or "Quaderns de viatge" in the Foradada space of the Centre Cívic de Trinitat Vella (Barcelona, 2015). He has been finalist in 2012, 2013 and 2014 in the FNAC contest or urban sketching in sketchbook organized by Escola Joso and Zahorí de Ideas bookhouse.

I´m a Spanish self-taught artist born in Bilbao in 1971. I grew up watching classic films and listening to music, which influenced my illustrations. I´ve taken part in many exhibitions and my pencil portraits have appeared on several magazines and blogs.

Biography
Since early nineties, I've been doing several works in Illustration and drawing.
My first comics were published by Undercomic and Subterfuge.
As an Illustrator I've worked for the magazines Rolling Stone, SM, Anaya among others.
Spanish publisher Astiberri Ediciones published in 2009 my most personal work, Cortocuentos, with my friend Borja Crespo as writer.
Over more than 20 years always creating new things, I've had the oportunity to work on other arts such as books, publicity, movies and animation.

Stygryt, a straight-hair animal, is also a Hula-Hoop fan. In this season of general indolence, this beast howls during full moon nights.

Fernando Vicente Spanish painter and illustrator, born in Madrid 1963.
His early work as an illustrator was published in the early eighties in the Madriz magazine, in the field of illustration as a cartoon. Since then he has worked for magazines such as La Luna de Madrid, Europa Viva, Ronda Iberia, Lapiz, Rock de Lux, Vogue, Playboy, El País Semanal, Gentleman, Letras Libres, Cosmopolitan, El Malpensante, Interviú or DT. From 1999 to present Babelia published regularly in the cultural supplement of El País.Thanks to this work has won three Awards of Excellence from the Society for News Design.

Biography
FIDEL MARTÍNEZ
Born In Sevilla In 1979 with a Fine Arts Degree. Won an award at Spanish comic book event In Certamen de Cómic e Ilustración INJUVE In 2003. He created with Spanish script writer Jorge García, Graphic novels "Hacerse Nadie" and "Cuerda de Presas", being the latest nominated to several awards and that was also released In France. Together they created also comic book series “Enviado Especial” for Humo magazine. He has worked also on collective books like "Apocalípsis según San Juan" and "Tales from the end of the world".
Illustrated also Spanish books Zoombi, "Cinco canciones de cuna", "Los orígenes del lodo", "Ciencia Raíz" and a contemporary edition of Monkton report, by writer Wilkie Collins.

Gustavo Rico -
Biography
Gustavo Rico was born in Barcelona, Spain. There he studied Fine Arts at the Sant Jordi Faculty of the University. He worked in different disciplines such as painting, collage and graphic design. His artwork is inspired by the masters of the clear line: Chaland, Max, Daniel Torres, Miguel Calatayud, Micharmut or others specialized in children’s illustration: Heinz Edelmann, Jesús Gabán, José Ramón Sánchez and Stepan Zavrel. In 2000 and 2002 he was selected in the Comics and Illustration Contest Injuve, organized by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of Spain with a cartoon that gives a preview of his interest in popular culture. In 2003 Injuve subsidizes the album "Hands of Sophie Walder," scripted by Alexandre d 'Averc and published by Edicions de Ponent.
An attachment to the Flamenco and Gypsy culture show the illustrations from the magazine “Cuadernos Gitanos” (Gypsies Notebooks) published by the Institute of Gypsy Culture of Spain, where he has worked on various issues. In collaboration with AECID (Spanish Agency for International Cooperation & Development) Rico has given several workshops for children and curated the exhibition “Comic10″ in Abuja (Nigeria) and Algiers (Algeria) on the 10th anniversary of the Comics and Illustration Contest Injuve. In 2009, he illustrated for SM Editions the children’s book “Faith Green’s Secret” written by Jean François Chavas, Award Finalist in the Contest “Atrapallibres” organized by the Catalonian Council of Child and Youth Book (ClijCAT).
In 2011 he illustrated the first volume of “The Teeth of Eternity” by Jorge García for De Ponent Editions. The work shows a particular approach to Scandinavian mythology and Viking civilization. After a fruitful collaboration with this editor, where he has published several books individually and collectively, Norma editions takes charge of publishing the complete volume of "The Teeth of Eternity" is expected to come out in early 2016.
Since 2013 he is also an illustrator and designer merchandising for countless bands.
He is currently preparing with screenwriter Jorge Garcia a new graphic novel of medieval science fiction entitled "Myrddin".

Jano Viñuela Agra - "I remember that I've found Valentina in the pages of an old spanish magazine called Totem Comix. I was an untrained teenager reading a not allowed adult addiction, lucky me to find a girl so pretty and at the same time, discover a woman with the ability to choose her destiny.
Since then I've had occasionally the opportunity to recognize a Valentina in real life, lucky me!!!"
Biography
I graduated in Fine Arts and joined a scholarship Erasmus in Bergen (Norway), also studied Illustration in Barcelona, at Massana School.
I worked as a graphic designer, cartoonist and illustrator in different companies and fields, from design to textile works and reprography.
Lately I have focused on drawing cartoons published in Bang! Editions, Demo, Autsaider Comics, Revista Mongolia, El Malpensante and above all, publisher illustration for Ir Indo, Alfabia, or organizations such as Barrié Foundation. I´m also an active teacher at graphic narrative worshops, focused on children at Museum of Contemporary Art (A Coruña) or Pontevedra Council.
I won some awards like Injuve (2002), the Certame Ourense (2003) and the Golden Globes (2011).
Last year, I was one of the fortunate guests at Viñetas desde o Atlántico comic festival celebrated in A Coruna.

Biography
Javier Olivares, Madrid 1964.
Cartoonist and illustrator.
As an author he has published several albums, highlighting among them Estados Carenciales, La Caja Negra, Cuentos de La Estrella Legumbre and Las Crónicas de Ono y Hop.
He has published, along with the scriptwriter Santiago García, a comic strip adaptation of the classic The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde for the publishing house SM. He has collaborated with Fernando Marías in the books El Silencio se Mueve and Prisioneros de Zenda, both published by SM.
He has illustrated a great number of books for children and adults and his press illustrations have featured in newspapers such as El País or Público and currently can also be seen in El Mundo and El País Semanal.
He has imparted illustration workshops in Spain and in Latin America, and has recently published the novel Las Meninas, published by ASTIBERRI and with script by Santiago García, which latest edition in France has been published by Futurópolis.

Javier Rodriguez -
Biography
While studying at the University of Fine Arts in Barcelona, Rodríguez and a group of friends (one of whom was Germán García of Tess Tinieblas, X-Men and Superman fame) started a comics fanzine called Froilán.In 1996, he pencils Anselmo Ensombras, a comic about the history of Spanish cinema for the 34th Gijón International Film Festival,[2] and self-publishes the first issue of Love Gun, a futuristic four-issue miniseries about a group of friends with heavy social criticism on such issues as unemployment and economic independence of young people (the tagline of the comic was "in the XXI century, unemployment is still a problem..."). Only three issues were published, leaving the story unfinished, which still was enough to attract attention to the young cartoonist from the critics and the audience. In 1998, the Madrid publisher Under Cómic relaunched Love Gun with a new #1 and a new story. Ígor Medio helped Rodríguez with scripting and inking for the second volume. Although the title suffered from erratic publication and stopped production after four issues, leaving the story unfinished again, the series gained enough attention for the publisher to release some merchandise (posters, t-shirts, postcards), something absolutely unheard of in the independent Spanish comic book market.In 1999, Rodríguez was nominated for the "Best Newcomer" at the Salón del Cómic de Barcelona (Barcelona Comic Fair).
Rodríguez began his professional career contributing to the cult underground Spanish comics magazine El Víbora.[3] Besides several short stories and cover illustrations, he created series Paraíso, Punk Rock Bar (later compiled in a single volume by Kappa Entrialgo in Italy), Tenebro and Comprobando la Realidad, scripted by Mauro Entrialgo. Rodriguez continued to appear in the pages of El Víbora until 2002.
At the same time Rodríguez does some custom short comics like Blue Joven (for BBVA) and Los Potaje (for the municipality of Gijón), included in a campaign to prevent alcohol abuse aimed at schools, as well as various illustrations for music bands like Manta Ray, Australian Blonde and Felpeyu. He also worked on film production and advertisements for companies such as LolaFilms, Canal Plus and Mediapro, and played in a band called Kactus Jack.
In late 2002 he publishes his first full color graphic novel Wake Up through Glénat. 2003 marks his debut on the American market, not as a penciller but as the colourist; he debutes on the limited series Batgirl: Year One by DC Comics (drawn by Marcos Martín and inked by Álvaro López, both also of Spanish origin). Since then he coloured a lot of covers and interior for both DC and Marvel, occasionally pencilling for various Daredevil and Spider-Man-related publications.[5][6]
Rodríguez contributed to every issue of the children's magazine Mister K with his series Crononautas, and co-created Lolita HR with Delphine Rieu for Les Humanoïdes Associés, originally serialized in Shogun Mag and later compiled in manga-style volumes.

Biography
José Luis Ágreda is a freelance illustrator and cartoonist since 1998. His work frequently appears in newspapers and magazines (El Pais, El Jueves, Fotogramas, Orgullo y Satisfacción...), and in the main spanish book publishers (Planeta, Norma, Santillana, Pearson, Espasa...). His other credits include projects in advertising (Ogilvy, Draft...), and character design for animation (Disney TV, Siriol Productions, Neptuno Films...)
In 2008 he started a series of fifteen children books with his character CARLA (Timun Mas).
He created the graphic novel, “Pink Harvest” (Undercomic), in 2001 and the book received the “Best Spanish Comic” award in both the Barcelona and the Madrid comic conventions.

Juan Díaz Canales -
Biography
Juan Díaz Canales (born 1972) is a Spanish comics artist and an animated film director, known as the co-creator of Blacksad.
At an early age, Juan Díaz Canales became interested in comics and their creation, which progressed and broadened out to include animated films. At the age of 18, he entered a school for animation. In 1996 he founded, together with three other artists, a company called Tridente Animation. Through this, he has worked with European and American companies, providing plots and scripts for comics and animation films, as well as directing animated television series and animation movies.
Currently working with Ruben Pellejero on Corto Maltese new book and creator of Blacksad with Juanjo Guarnido.

Biography
Lem Castañeda, years ago an illustrator for spaniards newspapers and magazines, later changed his way of living and went in pursuit of what he has never called "The Big Black Welsh". Now the welsh is gone, the black is longed, and he is showing some drawings again. Probably working on a long time abandoned comic project.

Miguel Almagro - "I've found Valentina on the spanish magazine Totem published by Nueva Frontera, I've bought it on second hand at San Antonio market in Barcelona, in this magazine, I've searched mostly Moebius, but while searching this artist also found Hugo Pratt, Muñoz y Sampayo, Druillet and others, also Guido Crepax and his Valentina, by that time I was 15 years old and didn't understood Crepax artwork but I could see his images of Valentina that sometimes were a bit scary, the stylized and thin women that the artist drew were for me like insect women, like sacred mantis."
Biography
I was born in 1967 and at 6 years old, my big brother brung me the Fantastic 4 by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, with a number where appears a silver star telling over the arrival of Galactus, since this moment I started to read comics and trying to copy the "King" drawings.
Later my family went to Barcelona and on a library, I've discovered the adventures of Tintín and later Richard Corben, Robert Crumb and many others.
Since then never forgot the fondness that I've had over comics and illustration.

I must have been about 12 years old at the time.
In a small newspaper shop close to my house, between Pumby, Capitán Trueno, Jabato, Mortadelo, Anacleto, las Hermanas Gilda, Asterix and Obelix or Lieutenant Blueberry appeared Linus, and my life completely changed.
The artwork of Enric Sió, Josep Maria Bea, Alberto Breccia, and Guido Crepax opened my eyes to other creative, narrative and sexual worlds that I couldn't imagine. Of course that I started to explore them with passion.Valentina guided this journey of mine ".

Biography
Self-taught artist born in Barakaldo (Spain) in 1973. Started making comic at the age of 14 years after seeing in the comic magazine Metal Hurlant authors such as Pratt, Moebius and Manara . She is influenced by European and American comics authors like: Will Eisner, Pratt, Mattotti, Jeff Smith, Craig Thompson, Crepax and Gippi. She has made several exhibitions throughout the years and has also collaborated with various publications and fanzines , winning some contests comic.
Pi Ortiz autopublished her first comic book "Tales of a Siamese crab" in 2011, a collection of short stories about a crab and his way of dealing with life. Lately has autopublished some titles: "Musa" , "Hands", "La Maraña", "20 rules of Grace and is working new stories.

Ruben Pellejero - "In the seventies meeting Valentina was a shock. I do not always understood her stories but the sensuality and morbidity that emerge on them is unique. Guido drawing and page assembly especially were always very risky and new."
Biography
Ruben Pellejero began his artistic career in 1970, but it wasn't until 1983 that he made his debut in comics. That year, he started a historical series about Barcelona for the magazine Cimoc ('Historias de Barcelona'). His creative production really took flight when he started collaborating with the Argentine writer Jorge Zentner. Their collaboration started out with 'Las Memorias de Monsieur Griffaton' in 1983, which was followed by 'FM' in 1984 and the series 'Dieter Lumpen'. Pellejero then began working for the French market, and joined the publishing house Casterman and the magazines À Suivre and Corto. In addition, he did comic adaptations for Je Bouquine and Fripounet. In 1989, he illustrated 'De Aap is Los' for the Dutch Donald Duck weekly (script by Frans Hasselaar).
Pellejero and Zentner made the award-winning 'Le Silence de Malka' in 1995. This impressive work relates the story of the Jewish community in Argentina, that fled from the pogroms in Russia after the death of Alexander II. Casterman then published the anthologies 'Blues' and 'Tabous', both written by Zentner. Ruben Pellejero has participated in the Frank Giroud comic projects 'Secrets' (the story ' L'écorché' in 2006-07) and 'Destins' (2011).
Since 2000, Pellejero has created several graphic novels for the Aire Libre collection of the publishing house Dupuis. The first one was 'Un Peu de Fumée Bleue' with text by Denis Lapière (2000), and it was followed by 'Tour de Valse' (2004) and the diptych 'L'Impertinence d'un été' (2009-10), another collaboration with Lapière.
It never rains but it pours. Hot on the heels of the news that IDW will be publishing the whole of Hugo Pratt's Corto Maltese in English for the first time, publishers Casterman have announced that Blacksad writer Juan Diaz Canales and Spanish artist Ruben Pellejero have been tapped to author a new, original Corto Maltese story. Due for release in October 2015, the book will be simultaneously released in French, Dutch, Italian, and Spanish, although there is no news yet of a potential English edition from IDW or anyone else.

Sandra Hernández - "I've always asked myself what was happenning to Miss Rosselli. She always seemed a bit bored and sad, sometimes lost in a dream that she can't escape from. Her reality, she only seems to escape it, by awaking her most hidden fantasies, that thin line that seems dangerous to cross."
Biography
Sandra Hernandez was born in Barcelona in 1977. Since childhood she spends her free time scratching all papers she finds, until her mother, sick of drawings on the blank pages of all her novels, decides to enroll her to a municipal school of drawing hoping to save for their classes her drawing cravings... but without much success. At thirteen she enrolled in the municipal school of comic of El Prat de Llobregat, where she has her first contact with the adult comic. In 1993, at sixteen, she entered the Escola Massana where she made the specialty of Drawing, graduating after three years of joy and dissipation. After participating in several group exhibitions and develop a passion for the visual arts, she becomes the curator of the exhibition hall of the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de el Prat until she goes to live in Barcelona where a black hole swallows her passing several years between doctors' offices and waiting rooms in hospitals. More restored in 2010, she decides to redraw. In 2013 she returned to study at the Massana, this time illustration. In 2014 she works as an illustrator in the children's program of the Catalan regional television, illustrating five of the ten programs that make up the season. Today, she divides her time between hugs for her cat and her desk.

Biography
Santiago Sequeiros. 8/10/1971. aciddentaly born in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Lives a twisted and calm infancy in Madrid, Vigo and Sevilla.
In 1987 begins his professional work on magazines “Imajen de Sevilla” and “Tótem, el Comix”, influenced by Argentine artist José Muñoz graphic works and sequential language by American artist Frank Miller.
Regarding his themes are always his self compassive nature, his bitter love over death, his feelings over a twisted sexuality and his existencial guilt, his inability to understand the world and his inner self, his atrocious fear and the love over the words by Valle-Inclán finish his stories: Creates his own Palomar (inspired by artist Beto Hernandez) and the imaginary city of Mala Pena is born.
A year later on a lucid moment goes to Barcelona to learn graphics at Escola Elisava de Diseño. This moment lasts for four years.
With his studies finished starts on what to do with his life without work or any benefit, except for the bartenders at cities such as London, Barcelona, Sevilla, New York and Mallorca.
Desperately goes to Madrid in 2002.

His work gave him the Award “Autor Revelación” at Salón Internacional del Cómic de Barcelona in 1996 and some individual exhibitions at comic book festivals in Barcelona, A Coruña, Sevilla, La Paz (Bolivia)… and collective ones at Brussels (Belgium), Luzern (Switzerland), Torino (Italy), Madrid and Mallorca in Spain.
As Illustrator has worked on Spanish newspaper such as "El Mundo”, “El País” and “El Periódico de Cataluña”; in Spanish magazines "Rolling Stone”, “Primera Línea”, “Tretze vents”, “Training & Development, Digest” , “Más libros”, etc….
Illustrated the following books at Spain “El Mercado y la Globalización” and “Los Mongoles en Bagdad” by Spanish writer Jose Luis Sampedro (Ed. Destino), “Problemas” (Ed. De Ruina) and “El diabólico Fú Manchú” by Max Rhomer (Ed.B). Received the “Silver 1999” award for press Illustration on the de ilustración XXI edition of the Best Newspaper Design de la SND at U.S.A.
Did also animation with Spanish channel Canal + as director and scriptwriter and another one as director, artist and scriptwriter in 1999 of a 30 seconds micromovie for Spanish channel “Cinemanía” . In 2003 works with Spanish channel Digital + directing two other animations for programs “Dcine Estudio” and “Dcine Español”. Received the first award on the category of best short movie in 2000 at Annecy animation film festival in France.
Currently lives in Carboneras, Almería. By the sea.
